Here We Go!
You’ve officially stumbled into the beginning of our journey!
North Kitsap with the Olympic Mountains as Backdrop
This adventure has lived in my head for such a long time!
I’ve been daydreaming and talking about selling everything, getting on the road and living the #rvlife for years. I’ve spent hours talking to my friends at work (lookin at you Mike) about how cool it would be to sell it all and just go out and adventure.
Well, now it’s finally happening!
We officially sold our house in VA at the beginning of February. We slowly, and sometimes painfully (I sprained my ankle thanks to a hole in the backyard), sold, donated and got rid of all the extra stuff we’ve accumulated over the years.
The plan we had was simple:
Pack up and sell the Virginia house. check.
Move across country - back to Poulsbo until said VA house sells. check.
Purchase our Motorhome (we are going with a Class A Diesel Pusher ) CHECK!!!
Chase adventure & see places we’ve always talked about but never quite made time for. (this is our next step!)
This one is my personal favorite - spend more time outside with the doggies! check! we go on daily hikes with these little demons.
Speaking of the pups - let me introduce them real quick if you haven’t met yet..
This is Piper! Piper is an 11 year old Australian Cattle Dog with very strong opinions (big surprise), boundaries, a very strong sense of loyalty, and she is also a foodie. She’s brilliant, stubborn as a freaking mule, and has perfected the art of side-eye over the years (mostly towards Kal). But once you’re “hers,” you’re in for life, although its very clear she loves Jordan the most, they’re each other’s ride or die. She may be a little grayer now, but don’t let that fool you, she’s still got the heart of a working dog and the attitude to match.
And this one is Kal! He is my 10 year old Cattle Dog/Border Collie/Aussie Mix aka what happens when you accidentally summon every Type-A dog breed at once. I got Kal in Colorado when he was just a pup and we have been beeboping around together ever since. He’s ridiculously smart, emotionally intense, always alert, and fully convinced it’s his job to supervise everything at all times. Despite the chaos baked into his DNA, he’s deeply loyal and incredibly bonded to his people. He’s my best bud.
Kal and Piper both love going for walks/hikes and will be VERY excited to get back to adventuring full time!
Motor Homiez exists to explore what life can look like when we prioritize freedom and experience over routine. This is where we’ll document all of it!
We don’t have every detail figured out yet. There’s no perfectly mapped route and no illusion that this will always be easy, in fact from all my research it looks like it will be hard as heck sometimes! We are ready to feel the wind in our hair and share it with y’all! Thanks for coming alofngof the ride!
So….. here we go!
